A special session of the Kentucky General Assembly has ended without the passage of pension reform. The session ended around 7:30pm on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Governor Matt Bevin issued a statement regarding the conclusion of the special legislative session. In his statement, Governor Bevin said he convened the special session to address the most pressing financial issue facing Kentuckians. He added the results indicates that some Kentucky legislators do not understand the gravity of the problem, but is determined to work with anyone to solve Kentucky’s remaining challenges. State lawmakers will reconvene when the regular session begins in January.
