On Saturday, December 22, 2018, eastern Kentucky native and country musician Tyler Childers delivered over 12,000 bottles of water to be distributed in Martin County at the Roy F. Collier Community Center. Prior to an acoustic performance following the water distribution, he recited a speech he prepared, in which he said he is shining a light on an issue that has gone on too long and pass out water to the families that have been forgotten along with it. Distribution of water was assisted by the Martin County Fire and Sheriff’s Departments. Water not distributed at the event will be stored for emergencies.
