On Thursday, December 27, 2018, around 3am, Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Martin Police, served a search warrant at a local hotel. The search resulted in the discovery of nearly 400 grams of crystal meth, cocaine, molly, and numerous prescription pills, as well as paraphernalia, including digital scales, a stolen firearm, and money. The occupant of the room, identified as 39-year-old Shawn Campbell, of Summer Shade, was arrested and charged with trafficking and possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving stolen property, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
