Man Arrested on Assault, Burglary Warrants in Knox County

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest after searching for a suspect for several months. Travis Marcum, 32, of Cannon, was wanted for an assault involving a 10-year-old child on Callebs Creek on October 5, 2018, and a burglary on November 21, 2018, which resulted in the victim being shot at a residence on Callebs Creek. On December 20, 2018, around 6:30pm, Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith received information that Travis Marcum was at Brother’s Market in Girdler. Around 7pm, Sgt. Carl Frith responded to the scene and arrested Marcum on the two arrest warrants. Additionally, he was found in possession of a small plastic bag of suspected methamphetamine and two syringes. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
