Knox County Man Arrested on Attempted Murder Charge at Domestic Violence Complaint

Around 10:26pm Monday, December 31, 2018, Knox County Deputies responded to a call at a residence on Emanuel Hollow Road. The call was in regard to a woman hiding in a bedroom of the home with her four children, and that her husband, identified as 23-year-old Brent Allen Hensley, was intoxicated and firing a handgun inside the residence. Upon arrival, deputies loudly identified themselves, giving commands to exit the residence. Mrs. Hensley opened the door and came onto the porch of the home and apparently had been noticeably crying. Brent Hensley refused to exit the home and would only show one of his hands. After coming out, Hensley was detained and became belligerent and non-compliant upon being told he was under arrest. While speaking with Mrs. Hensley, deputies were informed that Brent had allegedly assaulted her. She was observed having visible bruising to her face, forehead, arms, and stomach. Brent Hensley was charged with attempted murder, wanton endangerment, assault, resisting arrest, and other charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
