The Ashland Middle School has been named as Kentucky state champions in Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow contest. The competition is designed to boost interest and proficiency in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, challenging public school teachers and students in grades 6-12 to apply STEM to help improve their local community. Ashland Middle School’s team proposed creating an app and a website with a repository of programs for veterans in need of assistance. The team has currently won $20,000 in new technology and are still in the running for the grand prize of $100,000 in the national competition.
