On Sunday, January 6, 2019, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of a green pickup truck spinning in the ballfield at Chapman Park on Rt 2037. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a subject identified as Jonathan Acord. A field sobriety test was conducted due detecting a strong odor of alcohol. Signs of intoxication were detected and a breathalyzer test was administered. Acord was discovered to have a blood alcohol level of 0.178 and stated he had been drinking vodka. Acord was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, DUI, no registration plate, and no insurance.
