Governor Matt Bevin has issued a writ of election for the 31^st Senate District Seat, vacated by Senator Ray Jones upon his election as Pike County Judge Executive, for March 5, 2019. The 31^st district includes Elliot, Lawrence, Morgan, Martin, and Pike Counties. The filing deadline for Republican and Democratic candidates nominated by their parties and independent and political group/organization candidates must be filed with the Secretary of State’s office no later than Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 4pm. Write-in candidates must file a declaration of intent with the Secretary of State’s office no later than Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 4pm.
