Through High Intensity Patrols, the Prestonsburg Police Department made several arrests the evening of Tuesday, January 15 and the morning of Wednesday, January 16, 2019. The purpose of these patrols is to increase officer and police presence in high traffic areas in an effort to combat illegal activity. Six individuals were arrested as a result of the traffic stops. Those arrested include Larry Delong of Prestonsburg, Amy Gayheart of Prestonsburg, James Johnson of Dwale, Stephen Vanover of Auxier, Billy Craft of Prestonsburg, and Jody Tackett of Prestonsburg. Charges range from warrants of failure to pay fines, to DUI, and drug possession. All individuals were lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
