On Sunday, February 3, 2019, around 10:40pm, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a report of a four-vehicle traffic crash involving a pedestrian on US HWY 27 near Old Cal Hill Road in the Pine Knot community of McCreary County. Upon arrival, Trooper Harrison Wells determined that 43-year-old Adam Slaven of Pine Knot was walking southbound on US HWY 27 in the middle of the roadway when he was struck by a 2009 Lexus traveling southbound operated by 55-year-old Anthony Buttram of Oneida, TN. After the initial impact, Slaven was knocked into the northbound lane of US 27 where he was then struck by three other vehicles. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the McCreary County Coroner’s Office. Troopers Wells is continuing the investigation.
