Kentucky State Police Post 9 Pikeville are investigating a shooting the Johnson Bottom community of Freeburn, in Pike County. At 5:29am, Saturday, February 16, 2019, Post 9 received a 911 call of hearing shots in the Johnson Bottom area. As troopers arrived on the scene, they discovered an altercation had taken place in a residence. During the altercation, Greg Fields had suffered fatal injuries as a result of a gunshot wound. No arrest has been made at this time. The case will be presented to the Pike County Grand Jury for consideration.
