Body of Missing Knox County Woman Identified

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department has announced a positive identification of a body found on Monday, February 18, 2019. The body of a deceased woman was found in a shallow creek at the end of Ed Harp Lane in a wooded area. The woman was identified as 43-year-old Shannon Harkins Wombles of Flat Lick. She was reported missing by her son on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. The autopsy showed no trauma to her body and drowning and hypothermia are suspected at this time. Toxicology results are pending.
