Carl D Perkins Jobs Corps Partnering with Floyd County Schools for Vocational Classes

Carl D. Perkins Job Corps is partnering with the Floyd County School System to allow Floyd County high school students to take vocational classes at the Perkins center for half a day, and then return to their home school for the rest of their academic needs. The partnership was finalized during the center’s recent Community Relations Council meeting when Floyd County School Superintendent Danny Adkins and Perkins Job Corps Center Director Paula David signed a memorandum of understanding outlining the co-enrollment agreement. As co-enrolled students, Floyd County high school students are entitled to all the benefits of the Job Corps program. Floyd County students initially will enroll in the Facilities Maintenance career technical training program at Perkins Job Corps, but additional training programs will be added beginning in August.
