Attorney General Claims City of Martin Violated Open Records Act

The Kentucky Attorney General’s Office has issued a decision stating that the City of Martin violated the Open Records Act by failing to respond in writing to a request and by failing, without explanation, to provide any records in response to the request. The request was issued twice by Terry Thornsberry requesting a copy of the City’s code of ordinances. An extension was granted by the Attorney General’s office for the city to respond, in which they also failed. The decision now requires the City of Martin to immediately make arrangements to produce the requested records.
