Police Officer Treated for Drug Exposure

An Ashland Police Officer was hospitalized for possible drug exposure in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Officers were conducting a foot patrol at the Ashland Inn on Winchester Avenue when they came into contact with a group of individuals with a combination of outstanding warrants and possession of suspected narcotics. Following the arrests and locating the bags of suspected drugs, one officer involved in the arrest began to feel sick, suspecting exposure to narcotics, and was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center. The officer was later released. Six individuals were arrested and lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.
