Paintsville City Council Member Prompts Sunday Alcohol Sales Discussion
At the April 10 regular monthly meeting of the Paintsville City Council, council member Justin Lewandoski proposed a change to the city ordinance to allow Sunday alcohol sales. Lewandoski suggested the idea as a means to bring in more revenue to the city, saying with sporting events it would bring in more business to local restaurants equipped with televisions. Reception on the council was mixed, with some supporting the idea, while others feeling there are better ways to bring money to the city. No decision was made at the meeting to change the ordinance, as the idea was only brought up for discussion.
